Asking a B2B brand for its Facebook strategy is a bit like asking a restaurant for its “fried chicken strategy” … whether you have one or not, it’s probably the wrong question.

The truth is, social media may be the most over hyped topic in the history of B2B marketing. Sound like a strange confession from an organization selling a social media certification course? It is. But it also describes why this course is different from anything else you will find online.

This course is the flagship certification from the anticipated new Influential Marketer Series developed exclusively for OMI by four time best selling marketing author and Georgetown University Professor Rohit Bhargava.

As the former co-founder of the world’s largest team of social media strategists at Ogilvy and longtime brand consultant, Rohit has taken the lessons from nearly a decade of work in building digital and social programs for dozens of B2B brands and made those insights publicly available in a learning program for the first time ever.

In particular, this course will teach you:

  • How to justify and measure the real business value of your social media efforts.
  • Why “conversation” is overrated and how great strategy can take you beyond the hype.
  • The top platforms to avoid and how B2B social media strategy is different from B2C.
  • Tips and techniques for involving your “reluctant experts” in creating content.
  • How to build a great content marketing program that goes beyond white papers.
  • How to grow, hire or outsource a scalable team to manage social media.
  • Best practices for engaging influencers (including bloggers, media and industry analysts)
  • And these are just a few of the techniques and topics that will be covered over the span of eleven customized classes (and nearly 8 hours of lessons on demand) that will combine proven framework models and templates with real life examples to bring every point to life in detail.

In addition to a digital certificate of completion after taking the course – every participant will also receive a beautiful physical copy of their certificate as well as a custom branded gift from the instructor.

Class 11

How To Measure The Results of Your B2B Social Media Marketing Program

While measurement often comes at the close of most certification courses, it is likely one of the most important topics and how to prove the value of social media. Great analytics that tell you what is working and what isn’t are only a part of the solution. The other aspect is driven by the qualitative side of metrics. How do you put the pieces together to build a measurement framework that achieves all the goals of your program? That’s the main question this class will focus on answering.

How much does this certification cost?
The regular cost of this certification and any others that are part of the Influential Marketer Learning Series is $1499.

How is this different from other certifications?
The “Influential Marketer Learning Series” is a new group of custom certification programs created exclusively for OMI in partnership with author and Georgetown University Professor Rohit Bhargava. These feature extended bonus content and case studies – and are recorded and developed by a single instructor.  This certification is one of the first to be offered under this new series.

How long does this certification take?
Every one of our certifications is broken up into a series of 5-11 classes. Each included class may run between 20-70 minutes in length and courses can be watched in one marathon viewing or broken up to fit your schedule.

How long do I have to take the certification?
You are given 6 months to complete your certification following enrollment, so plan to dedicate your time in completing the coursework accordingly. All classes are available on demand and you can take them at your own pace. More time to access the material may be provided on a case-by-case basis.

What is a passing exam score? How long does the exam take, and how many times can I take it?
After finishing all classes in the certification, you will be ready to take the final exam. To begin click the “Start Exam Now” button underneath the last class in the certification.  The untimed final exam consists of 30-50 multiple-choice and true/false questions. Allow 45 to 60 minutes to complete the exam. Ideally the exam should be taken in one sitting, however, your answers are saved if you need to come back and finish at a later time.

You must pass with a score of 70% or higher to receive a certification of completion. You will have up to 3 chances to pass this exam. You will receive a digital certification via email upon successfully passing the exam.

Will I be tested on the classes that are electives?
No. Electives are available to supplement the main certification coursework, so you will not be tested on any of the material covered in those classes as they are optional to watch.

Do I receive a physical or virtual certificate or both?
Upon completion, OMI will send you a digital certificate via email.  In addition, for certifications that are part of the Influential Marketer Learning Series, you will also receive a certificate and personalized gift by mail.  See the end of the program for details on how to request your gift and certificate by mail.

What is the teaching style of certifications? Live or prerecorded?
Certifications feature prerecorded presentations. Essentially, they consist of 20-70 minute video recordings of a narrated slide presentation.

Can I get a copy of presentation slides or other reference material to print/download?
At this time, most course content and other reference materials are not offered directly – however the Influential Marketer Learning Series includes a series of templates and guides which WILL be available for students to download and use.  The certification includes details on where to access these bonus materials and how to download.

How current is the content for the certification programs?
OMI's Certifications are constantly being updated to match the industry's latest trends and tactics in digital marketing. Content is either updated or replaced entirely in accordance to the most relevant and current information.  In addition, every course in the Influential Marketer Learning Series is updated annually to ensure relevance and the most updated insights are included.

Are OMI certification programs accredited?
The Online Marketing Institute has been involved in online education for digital marketing longer than nearly all other organizations in the space. To address the topic of accreditation, since there is no accrediting body, OMI has gained accreditation from the States of California and Colorado and has been endorsed (and used by) major non-profit associations within the industry including: The Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB), Direct Marketing Association (DMA), Email Experience Council (EEC), Local Business Marketing Association(s), Word of Mouth Marketing Association (WOMMA) and more. OMI’s certification programs were then built through Wharton and it's Interactive Media Initiative to build an academically verified method to teach, train and test.
